Department of Finance – Abu Dhabi Youth Council organised Youth Financial Forum

The Department of Finance — Abu Dhabi Youth Council, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Youth Council, organised the Youth Financial Forum as part of their joint efforts to promote financial literacy among Emirati youth, equip them with the knowledge and skills required to build a sustainable financial and economic future, and strengthen their role as active contributors to economic development.

The forum featured a panel discussion with Her Excellency Buthaina Al Mazrouei, Director General of Government Financial Affairs at the Department of Finance — Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Khaled Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Authority, alongside representatives from the Department of Finance — Abu Dhabi Youth Council and Abu Dhabi Youth Council.

The discussion highlighted the role of government entities in fostering financial awareness, the importance of empowering young people to master the fundamentals of financial management, and the value of engaging them in shaping the economy of the future.

The session also explored the Federal Youth Authority’s role in supporting and empowering young people, the importance of government partnerships in expanding the impact of national initiatives, and the Department of Finance — Abu Dhabi’s role in promoting financial sustainability, as well as the importance of enhancing young people’s awareness of economic policies.

Participants were also introduced to the Tharwa initiative and its objectives, which include fostering a generation with a stronger understanding of financial management.

During the forum, the Youth Financial Expert Program was launched, which aims to equip young people with practical knowledge and skills in financial planning and wealth building, supporting greater financial independence and preparing them to contribute effectively to economic development.

The Youth Financial Forum forms part of a broader series of initiatives aimed at equipping young people with the knowledge and tools required to make informed financial decisions, while fostering a culture of saving, investment, and long-term financial planning. These efforts contribute to sustainable development and support the objectives of the UAE’s national vision.
