The programme frames documentation not as archiving but as active conservation.

Pip: On the conservation front, the Environment Agency recorded something genuinely unexpected — the first-ever olive ridley turtle nest in Abu Dhabi, confirmed via DNA barcoding at 99 percent genetic match, with 40 hatchlings successfully reaching the sea.

Mara: EAD Secretary General Dr Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri said it directly: “That Abu Dhabi’s waters continue to offer sanctuary to globally vulnerable species is a powerful reflection of what sustained, multi-front conservation efforts can achieve.”

Pip: Abu Dhabi hosted the seventh IMMAF Youth World Championships this week, and the UAE team turned it into a sustained medal run across every age category. The broader question is what Abu Dhabi’s five consecutive years of hosting this event has actually built.

Abdulmunem Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, said: “Hosting the championship for the fifth consecutive year is about more than organising a successful international event.
