ADM NEWS | The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, in cooperation with the Emergency, Crises and Disasters Management Centre – Abu Dhabi, has announced the launch of the Community Responder application on official app stores, as part of the second phase of the Our Community is Ready campaign.
This step represents the activation of the volunteer work system and reflects a strategic direction towards enhancing community readiness and improving emergency response efficiency, in support of protecting lives and property.
The launch of the application is one of the key outcomes of the General Framework for Joint Action on Community Participation/Volunteering in Support of Civil Defence Activities in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, which was developed in partnership with the Emergency, Crises and Disasters Management Centre – Abu Dhabi, the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, and Emirates Foundation’s SANID Programme.
It is also a key outcome of collaboration with the We are All police initiative. This reflects integrated government efforts to establish a comprehensive institutional model that regulates volunteer work and enhances coordination among relevant entities within a sustainable and effective system.
The application serves as a smart platform to empower and qualify volunteers through accredited training frameworks, contributing to faster response and improved coordination with the relevant authorities, and enhancing the efficiency of handling various incidents and emergencies.
It reflects the authority’s adoption of global best practices in engaging the community as an active partner in the safety system. The authority affirmed that the launch reflects a proactive vision focused on empowering community members and promoting a culture of prevention and shared responsibility.
It called on all members of the community to register and join the application, and to contribute to supporting an integrated system that enhances safety and security, reinforcing the values of volunteerism as an essential part of community identity in Abu Dhabi emirate.
