ADM | Hamdan bin Zayed chairs Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi board meeting

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra region and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), has chaired the agency’s board meeting, during which he reviewed key achievements, ongoing initiatives, and EAD’s strategic direction for the coming years.

During the meeting, the board reviewed the outcomes of EAD’s five-year plan (2021–2025), which delivered significant progress in environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable resource management. Discussions also covered the agency’s strategy for 2026–2030, which reinforces Abu Dhabi’s vision for a prosperous and resilient environment that contributes to a more sustainable global future.

The board also reviewed ongoing efforts to launch the Hamdan bin Zayed: The World’s Richest Seas initiative, a pioneering programme focused on enhancing marine biodiversity and sustainable fisheries. The initiative seeks to position Abu Dhabi among the regions with the highest marine density globally by 2030.

The meeting reaffirmed EAD’s commitment to advancing environmental stewardship, supporting sustainable development, and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s leadership in global environmental performance.
