WhatsApp Introduces New ‘Updates’ Tab and Channels Feature
WhatsApp has introduced a new ‘updates’ tab on its mobile app, replacing the previous ‘status’ tab. The move comes as the messaging app rolls out its latest feature, WhatsApp Channels, which allows users to receive updates from their favorite celebrities, sports teams, artists, creators, and thought leaders. The feature is set to be available globally in the coming weeks and months, and anyone with a WhatsApp account will be able to create a channel on the app.
New Features to Enhance User Experience
In addition to the new updates tab and channels feature, WhatsApp has introduced several other updates designed to enhance user experience. These include the ability to edit sent messages within 15 minutes of sending them, the option to share videos in the middle of chats, and a feature that ensures users can send high-quality images without compromising on image quality.
Silently Exiting WhatsApp Groups
Another new feature introduced by WhatsApp allows users to exit group chats more silently. Other members of the group will not be notified when a user exits, and only the admin will be made aware of the change. This feature is designed to give users more control over their privacy on the app.
Keep Chats Private with Password Protection
Users can now keep their chats private in a separate folder, with a password protecting it. Notifications that come from these chats will not display the content of the message or even the sender. This feature is designed to give users more control over their privacy on the app.
Multi-Device Feature
WhatsApp has also introduced a multi-device feature that allows users to use one account on up to four mobile phones. This feature has been in place for some time, allowing users to open one account on multiple other devices like laptops and tablets. However, this update takes it a step further by allowing users to use one account on up to four mobile phones.
