ADNOC Distribution opens first fuel service station in Egypt

ADNOC Distribution, the UAE’s largest fuel and retail distributor, has opened its first fuel service station in Egypt. The station, located in Degla in the district of Maadi in Cairo, provides the public with 92 and 95 gasoline and diesel. The newly established station offers services to consumers of all fuel types, whether gasoline, diesel, or gas. The station can also supply 1,200 vehicles per day with natural gas.

ADNOC plans to launch six more fuel stations in Egypt by 2023

Three ADNOC branded service stations have already been opened in Maadi and the Ring Road in Cairo over the past two months, with preparations already underway to launch another six during 2023, said Bader Al-Lamki, CEO of ADNOC Distribution. Egypt’s fuel retail market holds great promise with exciting potential for future growth, Al-Lamki said, adding that ADNOC looks forward to bringing more innovative and digitally-backed services to the Egyptian market.

ADNOC invests in TotalEnergies Egypt

The successful partnership with TotalEnergies Egypt encourages ADNOC to pump new investments into the Egyptian market, said Al-Lakmi. In July 2022, the Emirati company signed a $186 million deal to acquire an over 50 percent stake in TotalEnergies Egypt, with an additional earn-out of $17.3 million. ADNOC’s joint investment in Egypt includes operating over 240 fuel retail stations nationwide, 100 convenience stores, 250 lube changing stations, car washes, lubricants, wholesale, and aviation fuel.

ADNOC expands its presence in the Middle East

Besides Egypt, ADNOC owns and operates several fuel stations and service centers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The company’s expansion in the region is part of its strategy to become a leading global energy player.

ADNOC aims to bring innovative services to the Egyptian market

ADNOC Distribution’s entry into the Egyptian market is expected to bring more competition and innovation to the fuel retail sector. With plans to launch six more fuel stations by 2023, ADNOC aims to provide consumers with more choices and better services.
