The Integrated Transport Centre of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi (ITC) has announced that it will enhance the public buses network by operating new buses and adding 244 daily trips during peak hours in order to ensure meeting the public demand.

ITC has started operating seven main services in Abu Dhabi City that link between areas with high public demand. The new services are: 102, 41, 67, 101, 110, 160 and 170. This will also improve the frequency of the services to be between 5 to 15 minutes during peak hours which will result in reducing crowding.

The new buses and the additional trips will reduce the wait time required for passengers in bus stops in Sultan bin Zayed Street, Zayed the First Street, Hamdan Street, Mushrif Mall, Wahda Mall, Dalma Mall, Mazyad Mall, Khalifa City Souq, Al Reem Island, Al Zeina and Musaffah.

The new Mercedes Benz and Volvo buses are equipped with “Euro 6” engines and conform to the European specifications for low carbon emissions, based on ITC’s keenness to protect the environment, rationalise energy consumption, and contribute to enhancing the quality of life in the Emirate.

The operation of the new buses comes in response to the significant decrease of coronavirus cases within the increase of passengers’ demand to pre-pandemic levels.

Passengers are required to wear face masks and leave a physical distance to ensure the safety of all.
