The Abu Dhabi Sports Council announced the second edition of the Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo. Race on Nov 18, 2023, amateur cyclists can compete in 154km route from Abu Dhabi to Al Ain. AED 2 million prize money will be split equally between genders to promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation.
The international race will broadcast live on the Abu Dhabi Sports Channel to millions of fans worldwide. Abu Dhabi has become a top destination for cyclists and enthusiasts due to its world-class infrastructure and scenic cycling paths. The emirate’s extensive network of cycling paths and trails offers a safe and enjoyable experience for cyclists at all levels.
Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s Secretary-General, Aref Hamad Al Awani, stressed the significance of hosting the global community race’s second edition. He encouraged UAE’s cycling enthusiasts, particularly those in Abu Dhabi, to participate in the event. The race covers a distance of 154km through stunning landscapes before reaching Al Ain. Bike Abu Dhabi platform has various activities including the significant Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo event that gives away AED 2 million as a prize.
The first edition of the race saw more than 800 cyclists from 72 countries participating. The date of November 12, 2022 marks the occurrence of a significant event.
