Mark your calendars for a prosperous occasion, Hakkasan Abu Dhabi, the word-class Chinese restaurant situated at Emirates Palace, is set to celebrate Chinese New Year this February. Guests can expect luxurious celebrations alongside a specially curated menu, utilising ingredients traditionally designed to reflect good health and usher in fortune for the year ahead. The auspicious experience will be available from 10th to 26th February 2021.
In synergy with Hakkasan’s rich history of traditions, celebrated across its venues globally the venue is set to transform into a true feast for the senses. By honouring these customs through elevation of the guest experience, Hakkasan continues to pay homage to its Chinese roots. Centred around the principle of “Peace, Love and Sharing”, the Year of the Ox will see Hakkasan’s wishing tree tradition go virtual this year and be transformed into a digital art installation within the venue.
There will also be a signature sharing menu featuring dishes said to bring good health and fortune and a specially crafted fortune-themed dessert. As part of the festivities, the renowned venue presents a limited-edition signature menu, priced at AED 468 per person. Meticulously designed by the team of experienced chefs from across the globe, the immersive culinary experience showcases true theatrical flair that Hakkasan in renowned for.
Unmissable highlights include the signature dish, Yu Sheng Salad, an authentic celebration for the Year of the Ox: a colourful Cantonese salad of house cured Loch Duart salmon, plum dressing, that is said to bring prosperity and good fortune in the coming year, ‘Yu Sheng’ is a popular salad dish traditionally served during Chinese New Year, the name originates from the Cantonese phrase, “Lo Hei” meaning “tossing up good fortune” — guests are encouraged to toss their salad to bring in good fortune for the new year.
Other culinary masterpieces featured on the menu are Double Treasure Fortune, Quail blossom puff coupled with a Seafood jade dumpling as an appetizer. For the main courses, Crispy kumquat chicken made of osmanthus kumquat, orange sauce, seven spiced salt, Wok-fry tiger prawn with macadamia nut accompanied with sweet chili sauce, Broccolini, black fungus, shimeji mushroom in a truffle sauce, all bought together with Braised abalone roasted duck fried rice with dried scallop, shitake mushroom.
The grand finale of the menu is the indulgent The Mandarin dessert, a white chocolate mousse, pain de gene and orange cacao butter.The desert symbolizes auspicious mandarin fruit, which is traditionally given to the loved ones at New Year.
Renowned for elevated ambiance, soothing tunes will be performed daily with residents and visitors invited to dine indoors or on the elegant and spacious outdoor terrace overlooking the Abu Dhabi’s landmarks.
